From the Principal
July 2008
Dear Parents and Students,
What a wonderful year we had! I am proud of all of our accomplishments - from the classroom to the stage, from the athletic arenas to the courthouse, we have had so much to brag about. In addition, there were almost 400 students in the Principals Circle (an average of 90% for the first three marking periods) and many of our students participated in service projects, donating their time and service for good causes. Thanks to all for showing your EI Pride.
Many thanks to our PTSA, the executive board, committee chairs, and parents for all you do for the students of East Islip High School. Mrs. McGovern, a very special thank you for your years of service as PTSA President. You have been so generous with your time, energy, and love. Mrs. Taft will be our new president and we look forward to having her at the helm of this dedicated organization.
On behalf of the high school community, thanks again to EIABC and FTK for their generosity and hard work providing our students with the support and encouragement children need. Please know that your dedication is much appreciated. Thank you too for showing your EI Pride.
Congratulations to all the delightful members of the Class of 2008. Graduation was held on Friday June 27th. It was a beautiful evening and we proudly announced that 96% of the graduates received Regents Diplomas. We wish you the best that life has to offer. Personally I will miss the 2008 Team. Thanks for the wonderful memories&.
As we begin to plan for next year we look forward to the return of more of the courses we have recently lost. This of course will mean less study halls and longer school days. Our August graduation will be held on August 27th at 5:00 pm in the high school library to honor our seniors who take just a few more weeks to fulfill their graduation requirements. We are also looking forward to meeting our incoming freshman, the Class of 2012. Ninth grade orientation will be held at the high school on August 27th at 6:30 pm. Please mark your calendars. It is always a fun and productive evening.
From all of us, have a great summer be safe and enjoy.
